COMMANDER GENERAL HUGO ALBERTO MIRANDA — DIRECTOR OF ARGENTINE NATIONAL GUARD, ARGENTINA

Historically, Buenos Aires has been a city with more than ten million people and no hospital trauma unit. But soon this will change, as we in the Argentine National Guard begin working with the Hadassah Medical Organization to create our first such facility.

We are modeling our new trauma unit on the one we saw in Jerusalem, the one belonging to the Hadassah Medical Organization. Our hope is to emulate its extraordinary combination of superior medicine, academic prestige, organizational skills, and world recognition.

Here in Argentina–and around the world–people die daily due to poor health care or to traumatic injury that goes untreated. My wish is that the tremendous efforts we are now making will result in an excellent health care system for my country. Because, regardless of ever-shifting political sands, one thing remains constant: the right of our people to have good health care and to have a government that cares about the welfare of its citizens. I believe with Hadassah’s advice and support, together we will achieve a better, healthier life for the people of Argentina.
