The German Friends of the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, extended an invitation to business, media and society friends to attend a late summer cocktail party on September 10th, 2013 to raise funds to support Hadassah.

Under the leadership of Regine Sixt, (chairman of the Honorary Committee and winner of the Hadassah Citizen of the World Award), Nathalie von Bismarck, and Prof. Werner Weidenfeld, the event was held on at the Dinner Club “Lazy Moon” in Munich to support the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Regine Sixt stated that “When it comes to the health of children, religion, nationality or financial resources are secondary. At the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israeli and Arab children share a room, play, eat and learn together. Here all people get the same necessary medical care. The Hadassah’s pediatric intensive care unit is one of the few neutral places in Jerusalem, where Israelis and Palestinians mingle together every day.”

Charitable donations were generated from a raffle and the auction of works by the artist Stefan Szczensny. In addition, each donation was matched by the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation.
