On October 22, 2014 a Hamas supporter drove into a crowd waiting to ride Jerusalem’s light rail, killing a baby Chaya Zissel Braun, and seriously injuring a woman traveler Karen Yemima Muskara who later died at Hadassah Hospital at Ein Kerem.
The driver rammed into a baby carriage, injuring the father, and knocking the baby—three month old Chaya Zissel Braun—into the street. “Despite the devastating medical injuries, the medical, surgical and nursing staff used everything available in medicine to try and save the baby while caring for her injured father, and trying to allow him to be with his child in her last moments,” said. Prof. Isaiah Wexler, part of the team at Mount Scopus. Both parents were most appreciative of the heroic efforts, support and compassion shown to them and their daughter, who unfortunately did not survive the trauma. The father was released in the evening, along with another injured man who was waiting at the train stop.
Three injured women received emergency care at Hadassah Ein Kerem. One of them, who asked not to be identified, was treated in the Swartz Center for Emergency Medicine. “My physical state is okay,” she said, “But will I ever get over the trauma of this event?”

“On the 19th anniversary of the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, another act of terror in Jerusalem— the second in two weeks— has killed and injured innocent citizens waiting at a train station. The terrorist drove his car into the crowd, killing a Border Police Officer and injuring a dozen others. Eight of the injured were rushed to Hadassah’s hospitals on Mt. Scopus and in Ein Kerem.
Our hearts are with the injured and their families, and all the citizens of Jerusalem. We pray for restored health and wholeness for the victims of this terrible act.” See http://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/Hadassah-two-remain-hospitalized-in-serious-critical-condition-380896
