The Heart Institute at Hadassah Hospital-Ein Kerem has established a special Psychology Unit to offer psychological assistance to patients while in the hospital and after they go home.
The unit was created to help patients and their families deal with emotional stress, empower their ability to cope, enhance their response to medical treatment, and improve their overall mental health, in addition to fostering better communication between patients and medical staff. In the near future, the Unit will also offer support groups for patients using defibrillators and those who experience increased anxiety following a cardiac event.
