Through connections forged by Hadassah Nice, the University Hospital of Nice, France and the Hadassah Medical Organization are beginning a cooperative medical venture. In May, a delegation of 30 people from Nice visited the Hadassah Medical Center, headed by Prof. Daniel Benchimol, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Nice; Jean Jacques Romatet, the hospital’s Director General; and Christian Estrosi, Minister of the French government (in photo, left, with Hadassah Medical Organization’s Director General Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yosef). They were joined by representatives of the French embassy in Tel Aviv, who witnessed the signing of a letter of intention to establish this collaboration. Several months ago, Hadassah Nice Chair Dr. Bruno Lellouche and Prof. Benshimol came to Hadassah Hospital and laid the groundwork for this venture. The medical exchange will involve the fields of emergency preparedness and response, mass casualty and terror medicine, and care of children with AIDS.
