During her first visit to Israel, Mrs. Yoo Soon-Taek, wife of United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, toured the Hadassah University Medical Center, where she greeted some of the children in the Department of Pediatric Hemato-Oncology and their families. She is pictured with eight-year-old Ayah, a young Palestinian girl from Gaza, and her mother.
Mrs. Yoo also met with Prof. Dan Engelhard, head of Pediatrics at Hadassah Hospital-Ein Kerem, who described Hadassah’s many outreach programs, including the one he established: Ethiopian orphanages for children with HIV/AIDS.
Mrs. Yoo concluded her tour at the Hadassah-Hebrew University Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine, where Dean Prof. Orly Manor (on far right in photo) introduced her to the members of this year’s International Master’s in Public Health (IMPH) program. Dr. Yehuda Neumark, head of the IMPH program, is pictured on the far left.
