1. PRIVACY PHILOSOPHY AND INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Hadassah International, Ltd. (“Hadassah International”) believes that electronic privacy is crucial to the ongoing success of the Internet as a service, and as a commercial and entertainment medium, and therefore uses its reasonable efforts to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. The personal information we receive from Hadassah International’s website and the satellite websites for Hadassah International’s affiliates (the “Website”) is accessible only by staff and volunteers designated to handle that information for business purposes of Hadassah International and its affiliates or by vendors who have signed agreements with confidentiality obligations. Such information is used for our business purposes and as we may otherwise be directed by you (e.g., to process a donation or registration materials or to receive additional information about Hadassah International programs and activities). Hadassah International may share information with its affiliates and related entities. Hadassah International does not share information about your individual visits to our Website, nor does Hadassah International share, sell, trade, or rent the personal information that you provide to us whether offline or through the Website, such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, credit card account number, etc., to any outside parties except as directed or authorized by you or when we believe that (i) the law requires it, (ii) disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Hadassah International, its affiliates, donors, or others, (iii) your actions on our Website violate our Website’s Terms and Conditions, (iv) we need to send the information to companies or individuals who work with Hadassah International and/or its affiliates to process transactions for, or provide a product or service to, you or Hadassah International, (v) it is necessary for business purposes of Hadassah International and/or its affiliates, (vi) it is for legal, accounting, or regulatory purposes, including compliance with civil subpoenas and requests from law enforcement, (vii) it is necessary to enforce our Website’s Terms and Conditions, (viii) it is necessary to respond to claims that any information you provide violates the rights of third parties; (ix) the disclosure is in relation to the sale, assignment, transfer or acquisition of all or substantially all of the assets of Hadassah International and/or its affiliates by a third party or (x) other reasons we determine in good faith to be necessary or appropriate; provided, however that, Hadassah International will not share your personal information with companies or individuals who work with Hadassah International for business purposes or to offer you a product or service if you send an opt-out request by e-mail, to international@hadassah.org, or by mail, to Hadassah International, c/o Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc., 40 Wall Street, New York, New York 10005. For the avoidance of doubt, this Privacy Statement applies, without limitation, to our donors and other individuals that use this Website or otherwise provide us with their personal information.

2. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

In certain circumstances such as the following, we will ask you to provide us with certain information about yourself by filling out and submitting an online form:

  • Registering for an account to use any password protected portion of our Website, if applicable
  • Logging in to any password protected portion of our Website, if applicable
  • Enrolling to participate in a conference, program, activity or event hosted offline or on our Website or other third-party platform
  • Making an online donation on our Website or other third-party platform
  • Requesting information about Hadassah International or our affiliates
  • Requesting to be added to Hadassah International’s mailing lists

We may also ask you for such information under other circumstances, including without limitation, while you are participating in our conferences, programs, activities or events hosted offline or on our Website or other third-party platform. For example, we may use our social media accounts or other methods of communication to interact with you to encourage your participation in our programs and to request that you submit photos, videos, or other forms of media of you and others interacting with our content. For all intents and purposes, such photos, videos or other forms of media shall be considered “Content” as such term is defined in our Website’s Terms and Conditions. It is completely optional for you to engage in these activities. If you elect to engage in these activities, however, we may require that you provide us with personal information, such as your name, postal address, e-mail address, and other personally identifying information.

Data collected by Hadassah International is maintained on computer databases within the United States. Hadassah International makes no claims that the content or any other information available on this Website may be lawfully viewed or accessed outside of the United States. If you access this Website from outside of the United States, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for compliance with the laws of your jurisdiction.

3. IS CREDIT CARD AND OTHER PERSONAL INFORMATION SECURE?

We care about the safety and security of your personal information, including your credit card (billing) information. We and our hosting service providers use high grade encryption to communicate with your browser software to encrypt credit card (billing) information whenever such information is requested online. This method is a commonly used security protocol, which makes it difficult for anyone else to intercept the credit card information you send to us.

Hadassah International has also implemented reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration or disclosure. However, Hadassah International cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat those measures or use your personal information for improper purposes.

4. HOW DO WE USE “COOKIES”?

Visitors should be aware that non-personal information and data may be automatically collected by this Website through the use of “cookies”. “Cookies” are small text files that are stored on the user’s computer which a website can use to recognize repeat visitors, facilitate the visitor’s ongoing access to and use of the website, and allow a website to track usage behavior and compile aggregate data that will allow content improvements. 7. USE OF IP ADDRESS AND COMPUTER INFORMATION

Among other things, we use your computer’s IP (Internet Protocol) address to:

  • Help diagnose problems with our server
  • Administer our Website

Your IP address is used to help identify you and your time spent at our Website, and to gather broad demographic information. This allows us to see which parts of our Website users are visiting. We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means, for instance, that while a user’s session will be tracked, the identity of the user will remain anonymous.

Our Website automatically records such website usage information that we analyze statistically to track operational problems, to prevent fraud and to improve the effectiveness, security and integrity of our Website. In utilizing this analytics service, we maintain our existing standards in regards to the sharing and disclosure of information, security and privacy safeguards for the data, and the data retention policy, as described herein. Google Analytics analyzes website usage information automatically upon visits to our Website. Users who do not wish to have their visit information collected by Google Analytics may opt-out by downloading a browser extension or by disabling cookies in their browser settings. Opting-out of web measurements will still permit users to access this Website, with all included information and functionality.

Hadassah International may collect and aggregate data about your usage of the Website, and Hadassah International shall be the sole owner of such information.

Because we link to social media sites, and from time to time may include third-party advertisements, other parties may collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you visit this Website.

Please remember that if you transmit or post any information in any public areas of this Website such information may be collected and used by others over whom Hadassah International has no control. Hadassah International is not responsible for the use by third parties of information you transmit, post, or otherwise make available in public areas of this Website.

This Website is not intended for children under 13 years of age. Hadassah International does not knowingly collect personal information from children who are under 13.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL HADASSAH INTERNATIONAL OR ITS AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT OR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES THAT MAY ARISE FROM A CLAIM OF BREACH OF THIS PRIVACY STATEMENT. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law, or $10, whichever is less.
