Hadassah International is proud to announce that Prof. Zeev Rotstein is taking over as the Director General of the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Prof. Zeev Rotstein has had a long and distinguished career at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv where he began as a Senior Cardiologist in 1984 and served as the Director General from 2004. Prof. Rotstein was also the Deputy Director of Sheba’s Acute Care Hospital from 1988-1998 and its Director from 1998-2003.
Erez Meltzer, Chairman of the Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO) Board of Directors, notes, “As a leader and physician, Prof. Zeev Rotstein is a perfect fit to guide HMO through the next stage of the Recovery Plan. Prof. Rotstein’s combination of management experience, academic excellence, and care as a physician is crucial in addressing the challenges and nuances of Israel’s public health system and to continually improve HMO’s service to its patients.”
Marcie Natan, Past President of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America stated, “I would like to thank Prof. Tamar Peretz for taking on the role of Interim Director General during a difficult period and for her contribution to the Hadassah Medical Organization. Hadassah has always prided itself on being the leading medical organization in Israel thanks to its outstanding hospital team. I have no doubt that under Prof. Rotstein’s guidance HMO will continue to be a leader in providing world class patient care and ground-breaking clinical research in Israel. As HMO’s recovery continues, occupancy at Hadassah Ein Kerem is higher now than it has been over the past few years, and surgeries, deliveries and emergency room visits in 2015 have exceeded the 2014 totals.”
