Rumiko Fujiwara, 69, was deep in prayer in a church in the Old City when she felt a bang on her head. “At first I thought it was some heavenly message, and then I realized it was a stone,” she said from her bed in the Swartz Center for Emergency Medicine at Hadassah Ein Kerem. She was with a large group of Japanese tourists from the Makuya community on her first trip to Israel. “I’m still glad I came to Israel and look forward joining my group. I love Israel.” The ER staff promised she’d be back with her group within a few hours.
