The Hadassah Medical Center had the honor recently of hosting a group of researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences who came to Jerusalem to meet with their research counterparts from Hadassah’s Biological Psychiatry Laboratory.
Hadassah’s team, headed by Professor Benjamin Lerer, Director of the Hadassah Medical Organization’s Biological Psychiatry Laboratory, along with a team of eight Chinese researchers, headed by Prof. Xiao-Jiang Li, have conducted joint research on the role of genetics in the development of the central nervous system, as well as awareness of psychiatric disorders.
Their research was jointly funded by the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Prof. Tamar Peretz, Hadassah’s interim Director General, congratulated both teams on their successful research and emphasized the integral role of Hadassah’s Biological Psychiatry Laboratory in innovative psychiatric research at Hadassah.
