Despite COVID travel restrictions, Jorge Diener, Executive Director of Hadassah International, and Andy Wiesner, Director of Special Projects for Hadassah International, traveled recently to Zürich for discussions with potential supporters of Hadassah about relaunching Hadassah Switzerland and building a Hadassah “Europe without Borders” network.
Hosted by Dr. Manno (Micky) Saks, a Member of the Board of Directors of Hadassah International and President of Hadassah Switzerland, Diener and Wiesner held very fruitful face to face meetings with members of the Jewish and business communities, talking about the work of the Hadassah Hospitals, and how the local community can support this work.
Interest in Hadassah has also been expressed by supporters in other German-speaking countries. A trip is now being planned to Wien and München to explore expansion into these areas.
While in Zürich, Diener and Wiesner were able to meet with the executors of the estate of an ardent Hadassah supporter who had designated a very large bequest to Hadassah International.
