A Hadassah surgical team has developed an advanced laparoscopic method to extract a person’s gall bladder through one small incision.
Typically, surgeons must perform several incisions, with each one carrying the risk of bleeding, infection, herniation, pain, and scarring. A uniqueness of the Hadassah procedure is the use of new equipment that has a high level of safety. The goal is to expand the use of this surgical method to appendectomy and to procedures for treating obesity and acid reflux disease.
