Just a year after receiving a kidney at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem from a mother of five children living in Tekoa, Israel, Guy Dimery ran a marathon side by side with the donor, Yael Keller. Keller was spurred to make the life-saving donation by her brother, who also donated a kidney to a patient in need of a transplant. When Dimery and Keller met months after the surgery, they discovered that both were runners in the past. And so the challenge was born.

Dimery spoke of his medical team at Hadassah. “I have always been cared for by the staff at Hadassah and always have someone to consult with, even in connection with the marathon. Dr. Roi Abel from Hadassah’s Nephrology Department is an expert in kidney diseases, and beyond professionalism and the knowledge that he is always there for me, he is a very attentive person. So is Prof. Michal Elhalal Darnitzky, head of the Nephrology Department at Hadassah, and her wonderful team.”
