The event, which was held at the Holocaust Centre in Wellington was attended by the The Israeli Ambassador Yosef Livne, and his wife Norma, and a small but enthusiastic group of Hadassah Members. The Ambassador presented Belle with a New Zealand memento as a thank you.
Quotes from Attendees:
‘Interesting evening and Belle is a wonderful advocate for Hadassah with her detailed knowledge of their projects and research. I thought it was a very interesting discussion about Hadassah’s unique approach to caring for all, no matter the politics. Venue was very appropriate and welcoming. All in all, the only problem was a smallish and rather aged crowd, but that was better than not having the event at all.’ –Susan
‘I enjoyed the evening – venue I thought great, especially with such a small crowd. Belle and Arthur are ovely people and I enjoyed listening to them and the question time was good.’ -Jan
‘Thank you for organising the Hadassah evening. Belle Simon gave a very informative and interesting talk. She talked about her life involvement with Hadassah and more. We were very fortunate that she came . We are a small unit hoping to grow again. It was lovely to have the Israeli Ambassador and his wife attend.’ – Jayne
