Thanks to the initiative of Hadassah International supporters in Mexico, Doctor Ricardo Segal of HMO’s Department of Neurosurgery was invited as a guest lecturer to Mexico this month at the residence of the Israeli Ambassador to Mexico David Daddon. His topic was “Hadassah and Medicine in Times of Crisis: New Contributions of Neurosurgery.
Ambassador Daddon opened the evening, praising HMO for its medical advances and educational outreach to institutions in Mexico, noting that they construct bridges of understanding between Jerusalem and Mexico. Dr. Segal discussed the work of his department during the difficult months of the intifada and terror attacks, as well as medical advances in neurosurgery and stem cell research. “Members of the community were moved by the extraordinary work of HMO physicians in their daily fight to save lives,” notes Hadassah Mexico Director Ethel Fainstein.
The program concluded with a toast in honor of all the medical personnel at Hadassah.
