For the past three years quiet work has been going on in Hadassah Ein Karem. Two Russian-Israeli filmmakers have been working on “I Clown You” a documentary about Israeli medical clowns. Professional medical clowning like so many medical innovations started in Hadassah Ein Karem.

There were once only three medical clowns. David “Dush” Barashi, one of the three first original clowns, is a lead character in the film. Another character is David’s student, another “first”- – Fulla “Falfulla” Jubeh is the first female Arab-Israeli professional medical clown. She works in Hadassah as well.

The film highlights the amazing collaboration between the medical staff and clowns who have become part of the fabric of the hospital. It is an attempt to tell the story of empathy, refusal to submit to a stereotype and Humanity above all.

With a looming deadline of only 5 days left to reach their goal, the filmmakers are currently running a crowdfunding campaign to fund the final stages of their work.

You can support them with any amount (starting at $1) here: www.iclownyoudoc.com/support
