Liana Alverez was walking in downtown Jerusalem while on a Jewish Women’s Renaissance trip when a bus rolled backward and she suddenly found herself wedged under its wheel. Israeli firemen   had to jack up the bus to free her. She was then rushed to Hadassah’s Hospital Ein Kerem’s Trauma Unit, where fast action on the part of Hadassah’s trauma surgeons saved her life.
