While visiting Hadassah this month, Mrs. Masi Tuju, wife of the Kenyan Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Raphael Tuju, met with Prof. Shlomo Maayan, head of Hadassah’s AIDS Center, and Prof. Dan Engelhard, head of Pediatrics and Specialist in Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases at Hadassah Hospital-Ein Kerem, who both spearhead AIDS projects in Africa. Following their meeting, they were joined for lunch by Prof. Alon Mozes, head of the Department of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, where they continued their discussions.In the afternoon, Estelle Rubinstein, Deputy Director of Social Work Services, gave a slide show presentation about the recent visit by Hadassah’s clinical team to Ethiopia and their work in AIDS treatment at two Ethiopian orphanages. Mrs. Tuju was most interested in the team’s work, as well as the possibility for similar collaborations in Kenya.
