Rely Alon, PhD, the new director of the Hadassah Medical Center’s Division of Nursing and Health Professions, is working on her vision: “to position Hadassah’s nurses to be in the forefront of nursing leadership in Israel.”
Dr. Alon realized that not only was there a shortage of nurses who could supervise the nursing activities in the many departments at Hadassah, but that this shortage existed for all the hospitals in Israel.
Hadassah, with its famous Nursing School, was in the position to remedy the situation. She initiated an 8 month long course for Nursing leadership attended by nurses from hospitals across Israel.
When medical professionals in China heard about this course, they approached Dr. Alon to work with them to create a similar course in China.
Once again, Hadassah is sharing its expertise around the world.
